German shipping companies experience a boom, but major structural challenges still remain
Never before in the 13-year history of the “PwC-Reederstudie” has there been such a strong change in sentiment within a single year. 90 percent of respondents share the view that shipping is currently booming. In nine out of ten German shipping companies, ships are working to full capacity. A large majority of German shipowners are also optimistic about future developments, even though there are still some Corona-related process disruptions.
