Abstract

Furniture sales via online channels have been on the rise for years: compared to other market segments such as electrical appliances or clothing, furniture is still ordered online much less frequently. In 2020, however, the share of online sales for living & furnishing was just under 18 per cent, six percentage points higher than in 2017. According to the PwC analysis, this trend is set to continue: While total sales of furniture and household goods will increase slightly in the coming years with growth of two per cent, online business is expected to grow by more than ten per cent annually.
