Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) is dynamically transforming the world around us, rapidly converting a multitude of physical objects through digital intelligence. The successively increasing use cases of new technologies, which are becoming faster, smarter and more secure, are also being explored by companies. However, there is one last step that most IoT applications are not capturing: connecting these device or machine insights with their customers to further respond to their needs. This divide between customers' data and the data customers' machines generate and transfer to the manufacturer provides significant opportunity for use cases that enable business to become more customer centric. This point of view describes the divide, the potential the combination of the IoT and customer world has and includes key steps and considerations on business' journeys to bridge the divide.
